• We’re in the final of the Stiles + Drewe Song Prize 2023!

We’re in the final of the Stiles + Drewe Song Prize 2023!

In yet more news that can only be described as “absolutely batshit”, the title song from my musical based on Iszi Lawrence’s teenage jiu jitsu suffragette novel – The Unstoppable Letty Pegg – is up for the Stiles + Drewe Best New Song Prize 2023!!!

If last week’s news was huge, things have just got huge-er. Is that even a word? My co-writer on the show, James Hughes, and I are totally over the moon, not just to have made  it to the final, but also to be the same list as 11 others songs by 11 other beyond-brilliant songwriting teams. It’s literally a dream come true.

If you want to join us and all the finalists in the celebration concert at The Other Palace on Monday 13th November, tickets are over here!

  • Some excellent news…

I’m in the Overture Musical Theatre development programme for 2023, with a show about early women astronauts that I’m creating with my brilliant co-writer Jenna Dyckhoff!

Here’s the briefest of blurbs about it and a link to more here. Suffice to say we will be writing loads and loads of new stuff about space, science, intergenerational feminism and patriarchy-smashing pilots over the coming months. More when the summer holidays are over!

  • An Evening Of Unnecessary Detail hits the West End!

I just sent out a tiny TinyLetter about things coming up and you can read it here.

It includes news of our biggest ever AEOUD show at London’s Cambridge Theatre, the return of Ada Lovelace Day – Live! at the Royal Institution, another QED Conference in Manchester this Autumn and a gorgeous summer festival at Alex James from Blur’s cheese farm. Bizarre, but true.

More updates coming via newsletter and these posts, as they occur!
