  • January Newsletter

My first spangly pink newsletter went out earlier this week, with what I’m up to at the moment. What I’m up to is “a lot”, it turns out… here’s the news in all its tan-coloured glory:

  • Geek Night In presents… A Geekmas Carol

Quick blog for the New Year, I hope you all had fun as the clocks ticked over to 2011 and your iPhone alarms gave you an extra few hours in bed.

Just before Christmas I played the Ghost of Geekmas Past in a podcast version of A Christmas Carol. It was written by Geek Night In impresario Richard Preston and it’s come out rather nicely. You can listen to if free online if you want to keep things festive a bit longer – I’m the one singing and playing ukulele about halfway through. Here’s the link:

    Happy 2011 everyone!

  • Awkward Christmas on BBC 6Music!

Well, this was a nice early Christmas present.

The nicest radio twosome I’ve ever met, Andrew Collins & Richard Herring, played a track from “It’s going to be an awkward Christmas, darling” on their 6Music show this morning. It was “Office Party” with Terry Saunders, for the record, at around 2 1/4 hours in, and you can listen on iPlayer until 11th December if you like.

As well as Andrew saying some nice things on air, some people said some nice things on Twitter right afterwards, which all made it a very lovely morning.

Righto then, back to work we go, and then off to the opera tonight.
